Wow. It’s been a crazy week of training. There was the normal weight training but with the addition of the new boot camp on Mondays and Thursdays the workload has taken a huge spike. For those of you taking my Boot Camp in Calgary, hang in there (registration is open for May now as well). Everyone is pulling together great and I’m proud of all the effort you guys are giving.
I was asked how much I workout every week and how I do it week in and week out so here is goes.
Monday: AM Gymnastic Ring Work โ PM Commando Cardio Boot Camp
Tuesday: One of these: Sprints โ JiuJistu โ Long jog to catch some sun.
Wednesday: Weight Training mostly for beach muscles
Thursday: Commando Cardio Boot Camp
Friday: Some fun weight training and Thai Pad work and a jog
Saturday: Gymnastic Ring work and fun skills like handstands.
Sunday: Eat junk food (well a little in the winter anyway).
I never really think about it but the above schedule is how it basically works out.
How do I keep this up week after week? I’ve been doing it for a long time and it’s all I do. I eat really well and I’m in bed by 10:30 or 11 at the latest. I take a nap pretty much every day as well. I seldom drink any alcohol and yes, I STILL GET SORE ALL THE TIME.
As a matter of fact, I have been spending extra time doing the roller over my calves and hamstrings since we’ve started sprinting in class. In addition, I’ve really had to bump up my hydration and stretching as well.
Monthly coaching club members can check out the crazy workout here in the forum. (If you are in boot camp, membership is part of the package).
How do I eat? Basically I follow ‘The Zone‘. I had a client ask me “If you wrote a book on fat loss, why are you following the zone?” Now that’s a great question
Basically because I learned how to eat, used it to compete and then won my weight class in the bodybuilding show. But it’s a very tight and by the numbers approach. From there I wrote Fat 2 Fit and that’s the book I sell online.
From there I then read ‘The Zone‘. After reading I was stoked because we were basically saying the exact same thing but in all honesty, I found the way he described it to be way less technical and a little easier to understand for the majority of my clients. Because of weight watchers and other big names, most people prefer the easiest way to figure stuff out. The Zone is pretty straight forward and fits pretty easy into your lifestyle.
I’ve got to go for now… my next guy is walking through the door for a session. We get to play on the gymnastics rings today
Any questions about this stuff?
