Weight Loss Support Forum

Hi. My name is Patricia and a student in the U.K battling with weight as usual! I have read your page on the ‘idea of losing weight’ and everything you say there is true about me and want to change it for good! This is really the final straw for me. I have been on the never-ending band wagon of fad diets which only result in misery. I am tired of doing all that and reading what you did it finally hit me (unfortunately later than i would have liked) that the traditional way – not starving and exercising constantly is the healthy and only way to go.

Thus i am writing this email seeking your assistance, guidance on how to go about it all in terms of losing weight effectively. I’ll give you a little background history and where i stand right now. I am 20 yrs, 5′ 7 and weigh 152 lbs. I have always been active in high school playing lots of team sports and really slacked last year hence the weight gain of 20 pounds. I also had knee surgery last summer due too a torn ligament (media mensicus) i think! And that sidelined me further until the end of the year when i started to get back into things but i’ve been doing it all wrong and going nowhere at the moment.

So my goal weight is get to 130lbs by the end of may and keep going after that. Please tell me if this is realistic and achievable. I have a particular goal in mind as i will be attending a wedding then. I think having that will help me stay motivated. I am a pear shaped girl so my biggest problem is around my hips and thighs which are the bane of my existence!

My hips are currently 42” inches as everything seems to go there unfortunately. So actually losing inches is the most important for me as i want to get them down to 34/36 inches! Good God thats like an unattainable dream for me!!!!!! Lol! I would like to balance my proportion as i have quite a small waist (29”inches). I don’t want to be unrealistic but i am willing to work really hard in the next 2 months to get there. I should also mention i hate the treadmill! It really hurts my knees.

However, i am comfortable with the cross trainer. I really want to tone and tighten up everything especially my hips, butt and thighs. I should also mention that i have a plethra of fitness dvds which are really good. They are mostly for toning and incorporate the gym ball as well. I live very far form a gym but i can make it there twice a week however i do live opposite a park and a place where i can run up flights of stairs. This would be good for cardio but i never know how to workout efficiently.

OK i think thats enough background. I know you must be very busy but i would really grateful if you took time to read this and advise me or devise an effective plan for me. Whatever is best. I am really really desperate!!! Please help. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

Regards
Patricia

Hi Patricia,

Your goal is definately attainable and can be accomplished in the time you have. You can find all the info around the site that you need to do this but I would suggest my Fat to Fit program because everything from diet to cardio to weight training is in one easy to follow outline and it costs $19.95. It also comes with one month of email support from me for you to ask questions as you go through it.

It also contains three programs for the gym and three that dont need the gym so you dont have to make the trip if you dont feel like it on any given day.

I would also suggest you sign up for our new support forum here:

That way not only can you get support from me but also the buildingbodies community as it starts to get rolling.

I hope that helps!
