Weight Loss Exercise Workout Help

I work out both at home and at a gym and have had very good progress in strength growth and inches.

I also work out with a girl from work. While I work on muscle growth and strength, I have put together a fat burning workout for her.

This includes a combination of weights and cardio. The weights being split over 3 days with different body parts per work out. Like tris, traps and shoulders one day, back and biceps another day, and legs on their own day. Abs and cardio are done on each day also.

With the amount of activity I have her doing she should be getting very toned, as it is resistance workout and cardio. The resistance is done as 3 exercises x 3 sets per body part, with 10 reps per set. The weights are challenging and push her close to fatigue but not like strength training where you want to fatigue at the end of your sets.

The cardio is done towards the latter half or at the end of the session to ensure her body has depleted the fat stores before the cardio.

With all this, she still isn’t dropping a lot of weight or becoming overly toned. The big problem is her legs and butt.

Despite me telling her to change her ways like drinking more water and eating more frequent meals, she doesn’t drink a lot of water during the day and tends to have sparse food to eat. The food she eats is not bad…ie it is not junk food.

Would this be the reason why she is not shedding the weight, or is there something that needs to change with her workout routine.
