No Weight Loss From Workout Routine

Hi Ray,

I’ve been weight training for 8 months now. I can do 120 lb squats and 140 lb cable rows, for example. I went from size 14 to 12 and that’s it. I also do cardio 3 to 4 times a week (stairmaster – 30 minutes). My nutirition is excellent. What could be wrong? I think a natural size for me would be about a 6 or 8. Any ideas?

I dont see everything I need to know about your workout and cardio routine here to make a really qualified judgement, but here we go anyway!

If your eating is awesome and you know how many grams of protien, carbs and fat you take in a day, then I dont need to go into that routine.

I think the problem with your workout routine may be in the speed. Speed between sets and calories burned during cardio. I shoot for 350-500 calories per cardio session myself and when trying to get leaner, I never take longer than 45 seconds between sets and usually I will do supersets with cardio inbetween when I really want to lean out.

When I want to get bigger, I concern myself with the amount of weight I’m lifting and take time to rest. When I want to lose fat, I am more concerned with intensity and speed of my workout routine.

Hope that helps!
