Alcohol and Lexapro

medication dictionary    lipitor medication side effects   aleve side effects   tamiflu medication

Alcohol and lexapro are not a deadly combination or even a risky one from the information I have found on the internet and medical forums. While mixing alcohol and medications is generally frowned upon for safety reasons the main point for not combining the two drugs is in their very nature.

Alcohol is a depressant and the main purpose of taking lexapro is to combat depression, so it would be common sense to avoid the combination of alcohol and lexapro purely from the standpoint of effectiveness.

While there is no out right statement saying that alcohol and lexapro should not be taken together, here are some thoughts of my own. If some of the side effects of lexapro are sleepiness, nausea and fatigue, I cannot understand how a combination of lexapro and alcohol could not amplify this situation seeing as this is a pretty good description of someone that is intoxicated. I however am not a doctor and this is only my opinion.
