Going to answer a few questions from you folks on how to run a fitness boot camp today.
Running a fitness boot camp here in Calgary has been one of the best business ideas I was ever given. I say given because even though I’ve toyed with them ever since I got out of the army, I never really committed until I was literally forced to.
I used to run a fitness boot camp out of a gym until one day that got knocked out from underneath me. I learned a big business lesson that day. Never build a business on a foundation you don’t control. It sucks to work at something for years only to have a daily whim of someone else take it all away.
If you run a fitness boot camp outside though, it’s all yours. If you own your own building, well then you’re just laughing.
At any rate, here are some of the most frequent questions I have received from your guys on how to run a fitness boot camp. (paraphrased as a group voice of course)
Question One:
I’d like to run my own bootcamp but I don’t have the start up capitol. Any ideas?
Yup, find some hills to run and increase your knowledge of bodyweight training. Then get busy spreading the word via mouth and get busy thinking about how you will reward people that refer others to your bootcamp.
YOU DO NOT NEED MONEY TO RUN A FITNESS BOOT CAMP.
Question Two:
I have no idea how to get started. What do you suggest?
The shortest route to learning anything is paying for the information and you can learn how to run a fitness boot camp with this system. I have it, I love it and highly recommend it but I’ll talk about Georgette’s system in a minute.
The second thing you should do it copy…
That’s right. Copy. You can be a pioneer in your field if you want but like Dan Kennedy says, “Pioneers often come back with arrows in them.” I’d rather see what works for someone and copy it until I have my own angle and I suggest you do the same. So find a fitness boot camp that looks cool to you and sign up. Learn what you can and then go start your own.

Question Three:
What market should I target with my fitness boot camp?
You can choose to ignore this advice but in the end you will either come back and follow it or hate running your own boot camp until you realize it internally.
The market you should target with your fitness boot camp is the market that you have fun and enjoy spending time in. It should be full of people that you would hang out with. For me, that’s the crowd that loves to workout and sees a hard workout as a challenge, wants to be there and does not see it as something that simply “Needs to get done” or is a “Necessary Evil”. Having said that.. those ‘hate exercise’ folks are a big market if you’re into it.
Sometimes you can make more money for a while if you try to please everyone but you’ll go home at the end of a boot camp and hate life. You have to “enjoy” your group in order to put the kind of energy into a session that people will consistently be happy to pay for.

I figured I’d just turn the camera on and let you know what I thought about it. Here you go.
P.S. As I’m talking about how great life is running my boot camp…. It’s pissing down rain and I get to roll around in that tonight…. um, sweet?
OF COURSE!

Hello,
I was in edmonton not to long ago and everyone there is fit! Even pregnant people of people with children were exercising with the masses, a boot camp style class ran past us in a park and I was very impressed. This post has many true points about using nature as a venue, and show simply that you do not need specialist equipment or massive indoor halls, if you have the personality to motivate people outside. The may appreciate exercising outdoors more too.
