Elite Rings II

Today we are putting elite rings from RingTraining.com through the ringer (I meant for that joke).

elite ringsI first got interested in the potential of elite rings when I found out they were used in the training of the cast of the movie 300 with Gerard Butler. Upon more research I found out that Daniel Craig used rings in his training to get in shape for Casino Royale and reportedly even got close to doing an iron cross. Good enough I thought. Have to check em out. So I did and here’s what I think of elite rings.

Elite rings and elite rings II were the brain child of Tyler Hass. The official elite rings training website is RingTraining.com

There was the first generation of elite rings and now there is the elite rings II which you can get in either clear or black. In my opinion the black looks the best but of course, that’s your choice.

elite rings IIThey are easy to set up and take down so you can throw them in the gym bag or back pack to use in the park, garage or gym if the owner doesn’t mind you hooking things to the power rack.

One thing I noticed about elite rings that other ring sets don’t have is numbers on the straps. GENIUS. When you are training clients or are moving quick between exercise setups, eye balling and equal distance on both ring hieghts wastes time. With the painted numbers on elite rings you just put them on the same number and your rings are hanging equal. Very sweet.

Having Some Fun On The Gymnastics Rings

What about the price of elite rings? Well the elite rings are not the cheapest option out there. There ARE cheaper options out there. If you are looking for the cheapest rings, then make them yourself with some rope and pvc or duck tape… heck, use a plastic dog ring or something (I’ve tried… )

The Negative Reviews Of Elite Rings

When I checked out what others were saying I ran into one negative thing constantly. People said they were not the cheapest option. So if you are looking for low cost, these are not the set. I also read about one guy who said his rings cracked which is weird because they are made of the same stuff that riot shields and bullet proof glass are…so just keeping you in the know.

?I have a set and they are great. Pullups, muscelups, dips, and many varieties of pushups.
