Aplastic Anemia
Its funny how we take our health for granted untill something happens. In this case Aplastic anemia. Aplastic anemia is a rare but extremely serious disorder that results from the unexplained failure of the bone marrow to produce blood cells. And one of my friends has it.
Another of my friends has cancer, I train her and her courage and effort during training would make most people hang thier head in shame with the lack of effort they put in.
Back my friend with Aplastic anemia. She is feeling pretty down with this condition because as with all things of this nature, it came by surprise. Aplastic anemia is a medical emergency. Patients with severe aplastic anemia require immediate hospital treatment. And she has been through the run...
The worst part is thinking what did I do to deserve Aplastic anemia? Noone really know for sure. A virus, radiation, environmental toxins, insecticides, and drugs are the known causes, but which one got me? Hard to say but that brings us to now. What can I do about Aplastic anemia NOW?
Over the next little while I'm going to do my research and see what I can come up with for her. If you know anything about training and Aplastic anemia, please make a post.----thanks---

First some signs and symptomes of Aplastic anemia.Signs and symptoms may include:
Fatigue
Weakness
Shortness of breath with exertion
Rapid heart rate
Pale skin
Frequent infections
Unexplained bruising
Easy bruising
Nosebleeds and bleeding gums
Prolonged bleeding from cuts
Skin rash
Fever
Next thing and I never thought I would say this as a trainer but if you have aplastic anemia, it's important to:
Avoid excessive exercise. Anemia causes fatigue and shortness of breath with even mild exertion. It may be best to conserve your energy. Long-term anemia can be hard on your heart, as your heart pumps more blood to compensate for a lack of oxygen in the blood.
Avoid contact sports. Because of the risk of bleeding associated with a low platelet count, avoid activities that may result in a major cut or fall.
Avoid infections. Protect yourself from infections by frequent hand washing and by avoiding sick people. If you develop a fever or other indicators of an infection, see your doctor for treatment.
Thats it for now, but here is a good resource link
