Today, good nutrition and fitness are more important than ever. At least four of the 10 leading causes of death in america: heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes, are directly related to our nutrition. Nutrition is also implicated in many other health conditions. While the wrong nutritional diet can be deadly, proper nutrition is among the key cornerstones of health and fitness.
Knowing all the nutrition facts and newest nutritional supplements doesnt make a lick of differance though if you never take the time to plan out what you eat. Nutrition is a matter of making time to eat well so you can workout with greater intensity. This is something you must do for the long term.
The idea behind proper fitness nutrition is to eat! People believe that the less they eat and the more they diet, the better thier progress will be. However is your diet doing more harm then good? If you restrict your calories too much your metabolism will shut down and thats a nutrition fact. If your body thinks it is starving, it will never let go of its fat stores. Diet and nutrition are two words that seem to be tied together but if you would just eat properly then there would be no need to diet. Eating whole foods full of nutritious vitamins and minerals are funny enough, usually low in calories. Any one that has ever looked at the nutrition pyramid did not see banana cream pie on there. Dont diet! Eat what nature intended.
